The Kingaroy Arts Team (KAT) is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by dedicated volunteers.
As an executive committee member, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery and supporting the local arts community.
These roles are voluntary, providing a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working alongside like-minded individuals who share a passion for the arts.

Who are the Kingaroy Arts Team?
All KAT committee positions are voluntary.

Kingaroy Arts Team Roles
All Kingaroy Arts Team member roles are voluntary.
The management committee is responsible for the general control and management of the affairs of the association. Their duties and responsibilities include:
- Controlling the business and operations of the association
- Ensuring that the association complies with its rules for meetings.
- Taking all reasonable steps to ensure the association complies with the regulations.
- Considering applications for associated membership
- Acting in good faith in the interests of the association and for a proper purpose
- Using reasonable care and skill in the performance of their duties, and
- Avoiding being involved in decisions in which they have a personal interest.
- There are also duties under the general (judge made) law that have been in existence for many years. The substance of these common law duties has not changed.
- The duties of committee members of incorporated associations would also include complying with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012

- Make decisions around purchases and prizes.
- Make decisions that provide clear direction for position holders and the volunteer body.
- Attend Monthly meetings with a report to present for their area (at least 2 meetings per annum or by phone, Skype or by report)
- Attend and assist at openings.
- Encourage membership and volunteers.

All Kingaroy Arts Team member roles are voluntary.
Runs meetings and usually represents the organisation at public events. Overall management of the art gallery.
Primary Duties
- Team leader of KAT committee, KRAG Art Director, volunteers and members
- Liaison for South Burnett Regional Council
- Works with the committee to ensure that council requirements are met.
- Chairs the meetings of the KAT committee.
- Signatory for financial documents
- Works with Secretary to hold committee meetings according to the committee guidelines.
- Makes final decisions of contentious issues which may arise.
- Public liaison with community and stakeholders
- Monthly rosters
- Contact for everyday operational issues.
- Communicate processes and changes with volunteers. Ensures policies and procedures are current and desk manual is up to date.
- Supervise order and purchase of items for gallery and shop.
- Facilitate cleaning schedule.
- Recruit volunteers.
- Communicate with Arts director and secretary the final dates for opening and dismantling exhibitions.
- Communicates with secretary and treasurer banking details for artists.
- Provides volunteers with an overview of each upcoming/current exhibition via exhibitions manager and media assistant.

The secretary of an incorporated association in Queensland has responsibilities under the Act and Regulation for ensuring that forms and documents are submitted to the Office of Fair Trading.
The secretary is also responsible for ensuring that the administration functions of organising meetings and minutes, handling membership, and maintaining important documents and registers of the organisation are fulfilled.
Primary Duties
- First point of contact for KAT committee business
- Call meetings.
- Call for agenda items. Distribute agenda items before meeting.
- Type up and distribute minutes.
- Submission of documents to relevant government organisations
- Manage membership register.
- Manage mailing list.
- Call for an update of membership annually.

- Communicate with Arts Director and Daily Operations Manager to establish gallery and Shop happenings and the final dates for opening and taking down of exhibitions.

Primary Duties
- Works to provide high end exhibitions to the South Burnett and wider community.
- Manager of exhibitions and exhibition calendar
- Attend and introduce openings with president.
- Pursues potential travelling exhibitions.
- Provides advice to the KAT committee regarding potential exhibitions and acquisitions for the SBRC Council Collection
- Provides overview and artist portfolios of potential exhibitors to the KAT committee for feedback comment at committee meetings.
- Monitors and manages the aesthetics of the gallery.
- Supports the KAT president with public appearances, exhibition openings etc.
- Source judges for competitions.
- Calls for EOI for exhibitions.
- Establish the annual exhibition calendar.
- Communicates with Daily Operations Manager (President) Secretary, and exhibition installer, the final dates for opening and taking down of exhibitions.
- Communicates with Secretary and Treasurer the banking details of the artists.
- Provides the volunteers with an overview of each upcoming/current exhibition via the Daily Operations Manager
- Negotiate and communicate with artists.
- Provides support to exhibiting artists.
- Work with the KAT committees to coordinate exhibitions.
- Works with KAT committee to coordinate hanging and take down of exhibitions.

- Contact person for everyday operational issues.
- Communicate processes and changes with Volunteers.
- Order and purchase stock for the gallery and shop.
- Facilitate the cleaning schedule with volunteers.
- Recruit volunteers.
- Communicate with the Arts Director and Secretary the final dates for opening and taking down of exhibitions.
- Communicate with the Secretary and Treasurer the banking details of the artists.
- Provides the volunteers with an overview of each upcoming/current exhibition via the exhibitions manager.
- Update policies and procedures as necessary. A desk copy is current and oversees the smooth running of the reception desk.

- Manage the integrity of art and craft made available in Shop 38

- Manage numbers of works: Wall space
- Rotate shop display monthly.
- Manage collection of unsold works
- Monitor and manage exchange of works.
- Facilitate the making of labels for works.
- Manage procedures.
- Instigate shop 38 events- Christmas pop up, Highlight special yearly events.
- Promote shop.

Primary Duties
- Work with media manager on website and Facebook pages.
- Regularly update activities, events, programme, using Instagram, flyers, radio, and community pages.
